I decided to take a try at the DIY braided hex nut bracelet from the blog Honestly WTF. It was super easy, and I ended up with awesome bracelets that look industrially chic! The hardware store had an awesome selection of nuts in many sizes and colors. Try one yourself!

I myself have recently been enlightend to the simplicity of creating hexnut braclets. In the past two weeks I have made dozens. I have begun to experiment with diffrent materials for the braid; suede cord, scrap fabric stips, and shoelaces all produce uber nifty results. It's also pretty keen when you add a bit of colored embroidery floss to the twine (I like to make three twine with embroidery floss braids and braid the hexnuts with the braids, they end up like friendship braclets gone BA.)
ReplyDeleteAnd Yes, Natalie, they have quite a substatial bit of weight to them.
looks cool! Great idea!
